The overall goal of Interpersonal and Family Relationships is to provide students with a broad overview of how relationships form and change.

Students explore a variety of relationships, including work relationships, friendships, and committed relationships, as well as examine how these relationships evolve or end.

This course also provides an overview of effective communication, wellness, and safety in interpersonal relationships.

Students examine the variety of ways people communicate and describe components of healthy and unhealthy relationships. They conclude by researching careers associated with interpersonal and family relationships.

Introductory Spanish 11 is a course specifically designed for students that have no previous knowledge of Spanish. The basic tools used in this class are a book, audio files, many video clips and written exercises. Many aspects of Spanish speaking cultures and its contribution to our society are covered in this class. Main topics covered are; greetings, present tense, basic descriptive words, question words, basic possessive words and common communicative phrases related to tourism.

Law Studies 12 introduces the student to the legal rights and responsibilities, which allow citizens to participate more fully in society.

Laws maintain the status quo, but they are also a force for change.

Students will examine how laws have changed over time.  Canada’s laws and legal framework affect many aspects of your daily life. The more you understand about these things the easier it is to navigate through daily events. These skills will be helpful to you throughout life.

Life Sciences 11 introduces students to living things and to the taxonomic system.  You will learn about how scientists classify living things and features of organisms big and small. There are four main units of study:  Evolution and Taxonomy, Cells, Cell processes; Viruses and Microbiology, Plants and Animals.

Students may take this course as part of the EBUS Academy pre-science program. The EBUS pre-science program offers students an opportunity to take online science 11 and 12 courses and access enriched learning opportunities through the University of Northern BC (UNBC). This course cannot be used toward Adult Graduation Credits

This course focuses on the basics of photography.

Students will learn to use their camera or Smartphone, experiment with settings in a range of environments while completing engaging projects.

The essential design elements, as well as composition techniques, feature throughout the course.

Required Materials:

  • Smartphone, Point and Shoot Camera or DSLR
  • Tripod

Photography 12 is an engaging and comprehensive course aligned with the British Columbia curriculum, designed to foster advanced skills and critical thinking in the field of digital photography.

This Grade 12 course builds upon the foundational knowledge emphasizing creativity, technical proficiency, and a deeper understanding of the photographic medium.

Required Materials:

  •  DSLR (Digital Single-Lens Reflex Camera)
  • Tripod

Physical and Health Education 10 is divided into four units:

  • Physical Literacy
  • Healthy Living
  • Social and Community Health
  • Mental Well Being

For each unit, there is also a corresponding 20 hours of activity that needs to be tracked and logged, for a total of 80 hours of physical activity, for the course.

Physical and Health Education 10 is required for graduation.

Physical Geography 12 is a comprehensive course, which examines the world around us from both a regional and global perspective using the five themes of geography, namely location, place, human/environmental interaction, movement and regions. Learners will investigate physical geography topics such as the cause and effects of plate tectonics, gradational processes, weather and climate, biospheres and energy, and then apply this knowledge to understanding some of the many of the problems associated with managing our environment including various types of pollution and their role in global warming and global dimming.
