Foundations of Math or Pre-Calculus 10
NO TEXTBOOK REQUIRED. This is a self-paced course delivered via animated video series. This course is a part of the pathway designed to provide students with the mathematical understandings and critical-thinking skills identified for entry into post-secondary studies in programs that do require the study of theoretical calculus.
Topics covered include: Algebra and Number – real number system, radical operations and equations (including with rational exponents), rational expressions and equations (permissible and non-permissible values, operations), financial literacy (compound interest, investments, loans/mortgages); Trigonometry – primary trigonometric ratios, sine law and cosine law, standard position; Relations and Functions – polynomial factoring, quadratic functions (standard form, general form, characteristics), quadratic equations, linear and quadratic inequalities.
