Studio Arts 2D 11 is an intermediate-level course designed to further develop learners’ skills and understanding in two-dimensional visual arts.
Building upon the foundations laid in Studio Arts 10, this course explores a range of 2D art forms, techniques, and concepts. Learners will engage in hands-on artistic exploration, critical thinking, and reflection to deepen their appreciation for visual arts and refine their personal artistic voice.
In this course, you will be required to log 100 hours of activity, hockey or hockey related activity, a character assignment, the importance of making good decisions, a nutrition assignment, and an assignment where you have a choice between skating analysis or game stats.
This course cannot be used toward Adult Graduation Credits
This course will examine some of the common diseases and treatments for domestic animals. This 4 credit course does not count as a science credit, but is an applied skill.
This is an exploratory art course. Students work on projects in a range of different mediums and artforms. their projects
Workplace Mathematics 10 prepares students for math in the work place and focuses on real-world applications of mathematics. The course focuses on helping students build skills around four main ideas: proportional reasoning; measurement of 3-dimensional objects; number sense and flexibility with numbers; and representing and analyzing data to make sense of it.
The course delivers instruction through videos in which students can take notes. There are assignments, chapter tests, and projects, in which students will apply their understanding and develop competencies.
NO TEXTBOOK REQUIRED. This is a self-paced course delivered via animated video series. This course is a part of the pathway designed to provide students with the mathematical understandings and critical-thinking skills identified for entry into the majority of trades and for direct entry into the work force. Topics covered include: Measurement – SI and Imperial; Geometry – right triangles, scale, perspective; Numbers – personal budgets, compound interest, financial services, credit options, numerical reasoning; Algebra – formula manipulation, slope, proportional reasoning and unit analysis.
Students will submit assigned work and will then complete online quizzes, if they have achieved a passing mark on submitted work. Teacher is available to assist students via phone or online during regular office hours.
