UNBC Science Talk Vclass

Attention grade 10-12 students at EBUS:  please join us on Wed June 5 @ 4:00 pm, for our last UNBC Science Talk Vclass:Dr. Joseph Shea

Dr. Jospeh Shea is an Assistant Professor of Enviromental Geomatics at UNBC
Holding a bachelor’s of science degree from McMaster University, a Master’s of Science degree from the University of Calgary, and a PhD from the University of British Columbia, all in Physical Geography, Dr. Joseph Shea is a professor for UNBC’s Geography program.

His research interests include:
• Airborne and spaceborne imagery and data;
• Changes in snow, ice, and water supplied in mountain regions;
• Unmanned air vehicle (UAV) research applications;
• The role of snow, ice, and permafrost in local and regional hydrology; and
• Open-source software.

Dr. Shea is also one of the professors who leads UNBC students on the Geography Field School course to the Death Valley Basin and Range region in California and Arizona.
