Humanities 9 (Social Studies & English)
Combining English and Social Studies into one course is a natural fit, as students can improve and demonstrate their language arts communication skills, while learning about the past and the current world around them, developing the Social Studies concepts and skills. Students will continue to improve their reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills, as well as explore various genres of literature, communicate using a variety of writing forms and styles, and explore the impact that history has had on the world around us.
The Humanities 9 projects focus on 21st century learning, building skills in communication, critical thinking, creative and innovative thinking, and personal and social responsibilities. There are a wide variety of projects that will appeal to the many interests and styles of learning, which our students possess.
