Apprenticeship and Workplace Mathematics 10
NO TEXTBOOK IS REQUIRED for this course and it is presented in a series of video lessons in eight course modules, with students completing practice questions and self-marking worksheets.
Topics to be covered include metric and imperial measures, spatial reasoning, Pythagoras, similar polygons, trigonometry, properties of parallel and perpendicular and transversal lines, angles, solving proportions, currency, unit pricing, wages, gross and net pay, problem solving.
Students will submit worked questions (worth 20% of the module) which will be marked within 24 hrs and will have access to the online quizzes (worth 80% of the module) only when students demonstrate that they have reached a passing level in send-in work. Teacher is available to assist students via phone or online during regular office hours. Parents are encouraged to check progress on the math website regularly or contact teacher directly via phone/email.
